CoSN on Secure Connections
EW TECH TOOLS FOR SCHOOLS: The Consortium for School
Networking is releasing guidance today to help school districts build
well-designed networks and protect student data privacy. The group is
partnering with Comcast, Education Networks of America and Presidio to build on
its "Smart Education Networks by Design" initiative [more on that
here: http://bit.ly/1eQNcjp] and is teaming
up with Harvard Law School’s Cyberlaw Clinic, Microsoft Corporation and The
Association of School Business Officials International to launch its K-12
Privacy Toolkit [http://politico.pro/1iIddas].
“We really have to have a strategy for educating staff and school districts,”
CoSN CEO Keith Krueger told Morning Education. “If we can’t earn the confidence
of policymakers and parents, it could stop in our tracks the progress that
we’re making toward personalized learning.” The new guidance builds on CoSN’s
annual conference held this week, which ends March 22.
