HIGHER ED HEARING ON NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENTS: The House will hold a Higher Education Act reauthorization hearing this morning on non-traditional students, particularly those over the age of 25. Witnesses include Kevin Gilligan, CEO of for-profit Capella Education Company, which has developed competency-based degrees granted based on students’ knowledge as opposed to the number of credit hours they’ve earned.
